For people who would like to see their characters in this story: geographic locations mean you're going to have to start thinking of elemental affinities, as well as what class your character will be in this world. W00t, yeah? Elements will be listed with their respective continent/country, as well as major cities and villages. Most of these words are weird, so I'll have little pronunciation thingies next to them. Red bullets mean it's the capital of the country.

Okay, some general rules on elemental affinities:
-- Being an elemental affinity means that character has been a citizen of the respective continent for at least 5 years.
-- NO DRAGONS.
-- If your character is of the Darkness affinity, there's something that's on the map that I can't specify as a landmark. You see, the area around Sephone is ringed with a mysterious fog known as Turnback Ring. It's to keep intruders out and emigrants in. It's really difficult for citizens to get out, 'cause Turnback Ring is also kinda like the Florian Triangle from One Piece. It's an area where ghosts are said to appear...Citizens of Sephone are safe from the apparitions when they're on land, but once they try to set through Turnback Ring, the ghosts of the past are said to haunt...And getting through these haunts prove an extremely difficult task for many Sephone emigrants. You're going to need to think of a good story if you want your Dark character out of Sephone.
-- If your character is of the Water affinity, you must realize that Seidona is UNDERWATER. The only way a citizen of Seidona can get back up to sea level is by using the Taoflats Current. Sounds easy, but the current is a dangerous one: the songs of the local Sirens can change the direction, speed, and power of the Taoflats Current. Prospective emigrants of Seidona have been known to die when attempting to leave, crushed by the current if not lured astray by the Sirens' songs. ;D Not to say that there isn't a safe way, but that's difficult too: Seidona is divided into city-states, and the leaders of each city-state are champion swimmers...but they're not going to haul your character up to sea level for cheap. Going down to Seidona is easy. Coming back up is difficult.
-- If your character is of the Lightning, Ice, or Spirit affinities, you need to choose a clan. Thoracia's clans are Ikauchi, Mizaset, Neitemo, and Meersi. Ikauchi is the leader clan. Honankyou's clans are Kyan-you, Hokyou, Nam-ayak, Reik-iyik, Oyan, and Loik-nam. There are no leading clans. Xemif is the same way; the clans are Tayrar, Aranfa, Naynalu, Fenseer, and Mienma, with no leading clan.
Alright, now some stuff about characters...
-- Be creative with what kind of person your character is. You don't have to stay strictly in terms with "Fire Emblem" or "Final Fantasy." You can get ideas, but you don't have to stay strictly in those terms. Granted, though, you've gotta stay in the medieval fantasy sphere.
-- Mages will ALWAYS be marked with an arm band around their left arm (and no need to think of the designs, that'll be up to me), and unless they're an Archsage like one of my characters, are limited to only one element. If you want your character to be an Archsage, I'll only take up to 2 more Archsages and you've gotta earn the position. How? You better show me a balanced character.
-- Mages will also need a familiar. That's that little animal thing that can talk to your character and others. The familiar will also help with the character's magic stuff. You know what I mean.
-- All mages (except for Dark mages) learn their magic stuff and are able to utilize their abilities because they bind a pact with an ancestral spirit. Confusing? Well, take Kevyn and Azariah. Azariah is Kevyn's ancestor. Azariah was a light sage. So her powers are transferred to Kevyn. But here's the catch: no matter how powerful the ancestor was, that power will not amount to anything if the recipient does not study. Azariah was a sage, and even a leader of Eternia's theocracy, but Kevyn has sadly not kept up with her studies enough to be of Azariah's equal. This experience = power method of my world's magi does not hold to Dark mages, whose powers are inherited.
-- All around, be specific, have fun, and ask me ANY questions you have.
Umm...That's all I can think of right now. Send me character profiles and stuff by Word document (I think my email address is on my deviantART profile thingy) and....I'm working on a map right now of this world that has no name yet. D: Hopefully I'll be able to get it up on Sunday...Let's see how much I laze around.

Hold me
Whatever lies beyond this morning
Is a little later on
Regardless of warnings
The future doesn't scare me at all
Nothing's like before
When you walk away
You don't hear me say
Please...Oh baby, don't go
Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight
It's hard to let it go.

I forget who it was that said it, but:

If you are what you eat, that makes you a cannibal right!?
Life's good right now. And you?

I could be finished with the sprites as soon as today. I actually would like to finish them today so it's very possible.
Excellent work on your story so far, then.
